Beauty Review: Coastal Classic Creations Makeup

Note: I received the products described in this post as a gift from a family member. I was not contacted or compensated by the manufacturer in any way.

This Christmas my mother treated me to some makeup from Coastal Classic Creations, a brand that was completely new to me. They offer a full range of natural cosmetic products for face, eyes, and lips in a lovely array of colors, all of which have clean and simple ingredient lists. The brand makes bath and beauty products too, some of which I've also tried and enjoyed, but in this post I'll be sharing my thoughts on the two makeup items I've tried from Coastal Classic Creations.

My go-to lip color is tinted balm, but this winter I wanted to try something a little more opaque. Coastal Classic Creations' lipstick in Extremely Nude is a perfect step-up for me, since the light nude pink shade is easy-to-wear and not overwhelmingly bright for a lipstick newcomer. I love the smooth, creamy consistency, which is as moisturizing as my favorite lip balm thanks to a formula rich in sunflower and sesame oils. The finish is just right for my taste, less shiny than a gloss or a balm but not as stark as a matte lipstick. I do find that I need to reapply the lipstick after a few hours to maintain the strongest color intensity, but I don't use a liner or blot and double layer the product as advised on the website.

I have quite pale skin, and sometimes it can be difficult to find a blush shade light enough to be truly natural-looking on me. This powder from Coastal Classic Creations, which can be worn all over the face or as a light blush, is perfect. The color is true to the product's peaches-and-cream description, and is well pigmented without being too dark. It works beautifully as a blush for my complexion, but is subtle enough to lightly dust all over the face--using it this way makes it a great alternative to bronzer to impart a radiant glow to those of us who don't tan. I also love using the powder as an eyeshadow for a natural, "no makeup" look. The powder formulation, which is actually made of clay, goes on smoothly and doesn't look chalky even when applied to skin without a primer or moisturizer. Overall, it's an excellent multipurpose product!
