Blogmas Day 14: Busy Sunday

Today got off to a busy start, as I had forgotten to get in something quick for breakfast and had to whip up a batch of muffins first thing. I tried a new recipe from The Winnie the Pooh Cookbook, a birthday gift that I thought was absolutely adorable. The muffins were tender, crumbly, and almost scone-like--quite delicious!

After breakfast I headed out for what will (hopefully) be my only shopping trip of the season. I had to pick up a few Etsy packaging supplies since I made my first sale this weekend, and I wanted to get a swag of fresh greens for our front door from the local garden center. We switched from wreaths to swags (also sometimes called door charms) a few years ago, to have a more naturalistic look. The mixed greens of fir, pine, boxwood, and holly are beautiful with a simple tartan bow, and I find that they last much longer in a swag than in a wreath. I also got some big bundles of holly branches at the garden center, which I hope to arrange in flowerpots on the front step. Pictures to come soon, weather permitting!
